Fuzzy White Neck Scarf
February 16, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
My favorite item of winter clothing is a fuzzy white neck scarf. Many times fuzzy items can be scratchy, but not my white scarf. It looks great with whatever I am wearing out, whether I am dressing up or dressing down. The funny thing about my scarf is that when I bought it, I didn’t even want the scarf, I wanted the sweater that came with it. Turns out the sweater looks terrible on me and fits awkwardly so the only part of the set that I use is the scarf. It is pretty, fashionable and helps keep my ears warm when I go outside.
Primark is a Great Place to Shop

My favourite place to shop is Primark. Or as I like to call it Pri-sace. It always has the latest designs from the catwalk at knockdown prices and for someone who hates shopping, it’s a great place to shop. Other people say the chaos of their packed stores and “stack em high” mentality is not for them, but I love the fact that I can find something simple and colourful any time I go in there, and get it in 4 different colours. For example, I love their t-shirts which I usually buy twice a year in a variety of colours. At £2 per shirt you can happily wear them till they fall apart and then buy new ones.
Knee Length Striped Rugby Socks
February 14, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
My boyfriend bought me the most perfect Christmas present this year – socks! But before you think I should be kicking him out, these are not normal socks. These are knee length, 100% cashmere, pale/dark blue stripey rugby socks. I love them! They are the warmest, toastiest things I have ever had on my feet and this little piece of luxury gets slipped on in the evenings when I’m watching television or getting into bed. Because cashmere socks aren’t very hard wearing they aren’t really suitable for using day-to-day. After a long and fruitless search for cashmere socks, he found them online at a Scottish gifts store, and I believe they were expensive enough for me not to even consider buying them for myself.
Who Doesn’t Love Uggs

My favorite piece of winter clothing is my UGGS. They are not UGGS at all though. They are cute boots that are comfy and come in a variety of color and styles. Unlike most shoes that are either stylish and comfortable or comfortable but unstylish these boots satisfy it all. Any one can wear them and they go with many different outfits. The only bad thing about them is that so many people are wearing them you never know if you will end up somewhere and someone will have on the same shoes as you. Still it’s a small price to pay for cute, warm, comfy shoes. With all those benefits no wonder everyone is wearing them.
My Favorite Winter Hat

One of my favorite pieces of winter clothing is my cat hat. I bought it in November of last year (2008) at an indie arts festival. Its hand knitted by a local artist and is made of fuchsia yarn that is a blend of acrylic and wool. The best part of this hat is that when you wear it you look like you have cat ears. As a cat lover and one who owns 10 cats herself, this was very appealing to me. I have also gotten so many compliments on it. Its very cute on and I just love it. It keeps my head and ears warm without messing up my hair or causing a lot of static too! I wear it everywhere and I sometimes leave it on once I have gone inside my destination!
I Love Old Navy

I love to shop at Old Navy. It is affordable and good quality. I basically have gotten all of my clothing from Old Navy, from pajamas to dress clothes. I bought several summer dresses a few years ago, and I still wear them today. They are plain so they fit for any season and can be dressed up or dressed down. I also bought all of my maternity clothing from Old Navy, it fit perfect, and kept me feeling like I could be stylish and pregnant at the same time. I also buy all my son’s clothing from Old Navy, they have a great selection of childrens clothing as well as womens. Now a days, Old Navy is the place to shop, especially if you are on a budget, but still want to be stylish.
Shopping at TJ Maxx

Recently, I shopped at a TJ Maxx for the first time. I walked out with a couple jeans, extra money, and a new favorite store! My boyfriend suggested this store, saying they had cheap, brand name clothing. Our first search through the racks made my jaw drop: the prices I saw were around 50$. THAT is not my definition of cheap. But as we kept looking, I found what I was looking for..Well, I surprisingly found a bit more! My goal was to buy two jeans for 40$. My total was 35$, though. I had extra money to buy a shirt with. I saw some gorgeous dresses that made me drool. I will get those next. Now, I know where to shop.
My Big White Hairy Boots

My big hairy boots are absolutely my most favorite piece of winter clothing! They are so perfectly functional while being wildly outlandish that I can’t get enough of them. I had to buy them – no, not because they were on sale. They weren’t. I was on a weekend ski trip to Lake Tahoe several years ago and took only my ski boots and a pair of sneakers. I didn’t think I’d need more because I was only going to be there such a short while. Then it snowed. And snowed. And snowed. It snowed until they closed all the roads going in and out of town. It snowed until they closed even the ski slopes. It snowed for days and days on end. And I had to have some footwear that I could wear in knee deep snow. Ever try to buy sensible shoes in a resort town? There weren’t any. And I’m so glad! Now all these years later those horribly expensive boots are still doing a bang-up job, keeping my feet warm and making strangers point and ask questions. Big white hairy boots. Get some!
Black Wool Women’s Coat
I have a great winter coat that is my favorite piece of winter clothing. It is black wool, a three quarter length coat, with gold buttons all the way down the front. It looks almost like a military style jacket, it has lapels on the shoulders with gold buttons as well, it is a warm coat and great looking as well. I purchased it at an outlet store a few years ago and generally wear it on occasions when I need a nicer coat. Even though it is my favorite I try not to wear it everyday, I like to save it for something a little more special.
Heather Gray Homemade Scarf

My favorite piece of winter clothing is a heather gray homemade scarf that I have had since my mother handed it down to me when I was in high school. She made it while in college in the seventies, so it has been around for a while! It is really long and very wide which is especially nice on an extremely cold day. It can be wound several times around my neck and face, so it is incredibly helpful! It has the fringe edges as well, and is cable knit and very thick. It is a rather itchy worsted wool, but I love it.
