My Long Woolen Red Scarf

It’s cold outside. People are trudging to and from work through the slush and grime of trampled snow, thinking about the day ahead or what to make for dinner, when a shock of Red flashes through the crowd of drab gray, navy and black outerwear.

My long woolen Red Scarf is a beacon of brightness against a background of safe conservative colors. This cross-hatch 100% wool knit scarf was a grandma’s craft of love. It’s my favourite item to wear in the winter, with its fringed and tassled ends, and long length that lets me loop it around my neck several times for extra warm. I also love the uniqueness of this Red Scarf for being handcrafted. When everyone is wearing the same belted black Mackage coat and Loeffler Randall boots, it’s nice to stand out in the crowd!

Wonderful Womens Leather Gloves

I have a pair of wonderful leather gloves from Nine West that I got at Nordstrom Rack. They are light weight, very soft and flexible. I love the way they fit the shape of my hands, with just a little bit of elastic on the underside of the wrist for a snug fit and slim profile. There is a one-inch vent at the opening, making it easier to get them on and off. The gloves are light brown and the opening is edged with piping just a shade darker. The smooth, supple appearance of the leather gives the gloves a sophisticated look that I appreciate when I wear them with a dressy outfit and a good coat.

Well Worn Comfy Sweats

If it’s winter, then it’s time to bring out those well-worn but totally comfy sweats! I’m especially fond of a blue hooded sweatshirt that I got when I was working up at West Virginia University. It was on sale at the corner bookstore and it was a steal for less than ten bucks. It has the yellow Mountaineer logo on the front and is nice and roomy, so I can wear a turtleneck or flannel shirt underneath. I love the feeling of warmth and coziness when I wear this sweatshirt. There’s a large pocket in the front, which you can use to warm your hands or carry an iPod, your keys or some Kleenex. I wear this sweatshirt all the time; around the house, in the yard or while shopping around town. If I could wear it to work, I would – but I don’t think the boss would approve!

Fashion Bug Clothing Boutique

Fashion Bug is a great Women’s Clothing Boutique; old, young, skinny, and obese. Here one can be able to pick her attire, then be able to find foot wear, and undergarments to match! The clothing are up to date with the latest fashion trends, and the employees are great help if you need them.

Up until last year, Fashion Bug was known to carry Maternity clothing. However, the entire chain has stopped selling this line of clothing; this ultimately sucks. I have purchased many of the Maternity Line, some bra’s, formal dresses, and have purchased many clothing items when they are on sale. Fashion Bug is a great when they have many racks on sale/clearance as you can get more for your money; without spending an arm and a leg doing so!

Roaman’s Womens Clothing

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothing is a website called: www.roamans.com. I am 55 years old and wear a size 1X. Many places only cater to women who wear a size 0-12. Other places that have larger sizes sell things that are not very fashionable. Let’s face it, even plus size ladies like to dress fashionably!

I do most of my shopping at Roaman’s. Last week I purchased 2 fleece tops and a pair of jeans. In the past I have bought coats, tops, pants, dresses and underwear. They have a liberal return policy and usually have some type of sale that includes either free shipping or a percentage off the highest priced item. As soon as the spring sales start I’ll be looking for some spring and summer items. I desperately need some summer t-shirts and shorts.

All of Roaman’s clothes are true to size and in the several years I’ve been shopping there I’ve only returned 1 item. It fit well but the color wasn’t what I expected. They sell sizes medium to 5X and petite, average and tall sizes, too.

Fashion Bug Clothes Are Always Fashionable

I am a huge fan of fashionable clothes. I shop constantly, but I always look for great deals and bargains. One of my favorite places to shop at is Fashion Bug. The clothes there are always in fashion. There is something there for every style whether you like dressing in camouflage or love dressing up to go to a night club. I never walk out of this store empty-handed because I always find something there that I absolutely love and just can’t live without. I even opened up a credit card to shop there because I’m there so much. The clothes are at a great price, and these days you just can’t beat that.

Plus Sized Women’s Fashion at Lane Bryant

Because I am a plus-sized woman, it’s rather hard for me to find clothes that both fit and flatter me. While I’m in ‘normal’ stores, the plus-size clothes that actually fit me tend to be stylized for older woman. I mean, I’m a young woman; I don’t want to wear T-Shirts with Tweety Bird or sequined cats on it. So my store of choice is usually Lane Bryant.

While the prices there are really high, I tend to only shop there when they are having clearance sales. That way I can get clothes that fit and flatter, but don’t look like something that my grandmother would wear to bed. Also, since I know that the store itself is a niche, I don’t need to go in and fight for elbow room when I’m browsing, and that’s a nice feeling. The sales people are always very helpful and nice, and whenever I come into the store, they actually go out of their way to help me find clothes that match the occasion for which I’m shopping.

But besides the price, I really don’t have any complaints about the store or the clothes that they sell. Being tall and plus-sized, it is a real challenge to find clothes that fit me perfectly in normal department stores, so it’s nice to finally have found a store where clothes that are in my size seem to fit me. Because the clothes are tailored for people like me, I don’t need to squeeze into clothes that are just slightly bigger versions of clothes tailored for thinner people.

Clearance Rack Deals

I buy all my cloths from Wal-mart. I think Wal-mart has the best cloths for the amount of money I have to spend and durability. I buy everything from my bras and underwear to jeans and shirts. I love that there are always five dollar clearance rack and the best part is that the clothes aren’t ugly or bland they are real finds. I think the most expensive cloths they have there could not be more that thirty dollars. I have had multiple pairs of jeans for years and they just started getting holes. Wal-mart is the best place to shop for cloths that you like and spending the least amount of money you can.

Women’s Eskimo Boots

I love to wear my Eskimo boots during the winter. The one which goes mid-calve and it kind of droopy. I find this extremely sexy and fashionable because you can wear them with just about any piece of clothing whether it is skirts, trousers or dresses or any length. I bought mine at Conway’s which is relatively inexpensive but very trendy.

The best thing is that they keep you warm and have no age barrier. They come in various lengths too so those who are slightly braver than I am can try those which go a little higher. I’ve seen those with the now fashionable leggings and they look really sexy.

Women’s Clothing at Maurices

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothing is Maurices. I am a substitute teacher when I shop, it is usually shop for professional attire. I am always able to find several appropriate and stylish choices at Maurices. They provide a variety of slacks in appropriate hues and blouses in several colors and fits. I have a store credit card that can be used and paid off immediately if I choose. This card allows me to recieve several discount options in the mail. In addition to the store card, I have a punch card that earns me a 10% discount after it has been filled.
