My Most Unique Article of Clothing

One of the most unique articles of clothing I wear often is a large scarf I bought when traveling in Mexico. It’s the size of a beach towel; however it is fairly lightweight but not sheer. I wear the scarf as an accessory to outfits that I wear, like wearing it as a shawl. I also have worn it as a skirt by wrapping it around my waste and tying it in front (with a few safety pins to keep it from revealing too much). I have also worn it as a dress in the summer over a swim suit. So it can be classy and it can be casual. It’s brightly colored so it just says summer.
Ann Taylor Black Wool Sweater

My favorite winter wardrobe piece is a black wool sweater I bought from Ann Taylor. It comes down below my hips and hides a world of sins, especially during the holiday season. It goes well with a skirt or a nice pair of slacks. It even goes great with a pair of jeans. It fits close to the body, so its not bulky. The sweater has buttons up the front and sometimes I button it halfway. I would suggest every fashion savvy woman to get a sweater like mine. It also has pockets in the front so you can slip in a lip gloss.
I Love a Good Scarf

I love a good scarf. They can add just the right amount of splash and color to a drab winter outfit, or tied around a dress or skirt ensemble to tie the whole thing together. You can wrap them, knot them, belt them, tie them like a tie — pretty much anything your imagination can come up with. My favorite article of clothing is a scarf I found at a department store at a deep discount, with a red, yellow and orange Middle East-inspired pattern. I’ve worn it with dresses, or over my collar in the winter. And I’m proud to know it was a great bargain besides.
Match your handbag!

One thing we seem to forget about while dressing is our handbag. We must remember that the handbag is just as much a part of the total fashion package as the blouse or skirt. If your wearing a well matched outfit from head to toe and it is say, lavender you certainly do not want to walk out of the house with a lime green handbag. It would just throw the whole look of the outfit off. While you may look fabulous everyone’s eye would be drawn to that bright lime green handbag. It doesn’t take too much time to transfer the contents of one bag to another. Take the time to make sure your handbag matches the outfit and style of what your wearing. It does make a difference and a well matched handbag can give you a more complete and polished look.
Plus-sized Women Should Stay Away From Upsizing
August 30, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
As the husband of a plus-sized woman, I have heard my wife complain many, many times about upsizing. Upsizing is when a company takes an article of clothing, like a shirt or skirt, that was designed for “normal” sized people and makes it in a larger size without changing the design in any way shape or form. Upsizing can create some absolutely horrible fashion mistakes in the plus-sized world, as not all bodies are created equally and no two bodies look/fit the same in an individual article of clothing. What you end up with in upsized clothing are often unflattering outfits that do not fit a plus-sized woman’s body correctly and make the woman wearing the outfit look unattractive. Clothing companies should really quit this practice altogether and plus-sized women need to be aware that this is happening in the first place. Be very choosy with what you wear, and you can be just as gorgeous as any woman on the street. Just be sure to pick clothing that is specifically designed to show off a plus-sized woman’s assets, not her size.
