Propet Marina Walker Sandals

August 5, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

My absolute favorite summer footwear is my Propet Marina Walker sandals. In truth I wear them all year long, unless there is snow on the ground! They are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn, and I feel they are versatile enough to wear anywhere, for almost any occasion. I wear them with shorts, pants, dresses and skirts. They are white leather, with two adjustable looping straps across the top of the foot, very feminine in appearance but extremely rugged and durable as they are made for walking. I have walked miles and miles in these sandals and have never had any issues with blisters or sore feet. They offer excellent arch support.

I love my sandals!

Target is My One-Stop-Shop for Summer

My favorite place to shop for summer clothes is Target. I love Target because their clothes are always reasonably priced and so cute. Target really has an innovative line of designers, and I can always find something cute for $15 or $20.

I’ve been buying things from this store for a long time, and I’ve gotten really cute dresses, pants, tops, and shoes there. In fact, my favorite pair of flip flops that has been with me for a long time came from Target. And they were on sale for $2!

They also have a decent return policy and I’ve never had a problem returning anything there when I had second thoughts about it.

My Favorite Store

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothing is Lane Bryant. I love this store because it carries an array of different styles and sizes to accommodate every shopper’s needs. They carry pants, jeans, shirts, blouses, sweaters, night clothes, socks, shoes, underwear and Jewelry. I recently went there during their sale to get Jeans because I only buy jeans from 2 stores and they are my first choice. Lane Bryant has a sale once every 2 weeks and if you are a member of their mailing lists then you receive coupons and discounts by mail or email. Overall this is the store for me.

Venezia Cargo Pants

I have a pair of cargo pants with the label Venezia on them. They are 100% cotton and they have elastic in the waist as well as a drawstring. These pants are incredibly comfortable because the fabric is very soft and they are loose-fitting. They are also convenient—I can carry my keys and billfold in them in the cargo pockets where they are less visible. The pants are dark blue and they go with anything. Sometimes I own clothes that I know I’m going to miss when they get worn out. This pair of pants is in that category. I’ve been looking for some like them, but I can’t find any.

Banana Republic Jeans

Honestly, right now, my absolutely favorite piece of clothing is a pair of dark blue boot cut jeans I bought from Banana Republic. It fits perfectly everywhere, including the waist and the length. I am petite and it is very difficult for me to fine any pants that fit, particularly the waist. It is dark and boot cut so it makes me look lean and longer and when I wear with my favorite heels, it looks great. Now I know that Petite Jeans from Banana Republic fits so well, this is THE I shop for any pants. I wear it all the time, including even to church.

Wishing You Were Ten Pounds Lighter, Making Yourself Look Twenty Pounds Heavier.

I truly wish more females would get correctly fitted for clothing and then purchase the proper size. You can cram your feet into a shoe that is a half-size too small because they don’t carry your actual size and nobody will really notice if you carry yourself in a certain manner. Sure, your toes may permanently go numb but you can still look relatively presentable. However; those same schemes do not work for bras, underwear, pants nor tops. Just because you can cram your 40D’s into a 38C does not mean you should, everyone can tell… and it does not look good!
Many females buy pants a size smaller and throw on a belt because they believe it holds those extra pounds back, out of sight, it doesn’t, people notice. In their attempts to look as if they have dropped a clothing size many females end up looking as if they went on a weekend bender at Carvel… then stopped by Pizza Hut on their way to buy new pants. Looking as if you dressed yourself, turned the clothes dryer to high, then crawled in is not flattering. Frankly, it is downright trashy and females should be wholly embarrassed for themselves and/or anyone they see dressing in that manner.

I beg of my fellow females, please buy the proper size and wear it well. Really, what is the point of being uncomfortable AND looking bad?!?

Brown and Black Shoes: Know the Difference!

September 4, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

One thing I am constantly trying to explain to my boyfriend is the fashion faux pas of wearing brown shoes with black pants, or anything brown with anything black. Yes, they’re both dark colors. No, that does not mean they go well together.

While the two colors are both dark and go well with several colors (usually those that are much lighter to provide some nice contrast), they do not go well together. Why? I don’t know, but try it for yourself and I’m sure you’ll agree with me. I have this beautiful black and red dress that I bought from Forever 21 two years ago, and I find that the only pair of shoes I have that goes with it are my knee high black boots. I have knee high brown boots, too, but they look awful when paired with this dress.

Ask any fashion professional and they’ll tell you the same. Avoid the dreaded brown-shoe-black-pants phenomenon. Black shoes with black pants, brown shoes with tan pants, perhaps.

Take Off Visible Pounds by Dressing for Your Size

Women who dress for their size tend to look a little more put together and if you had to guess their weight you would guess smaller than they actually were. Here are a few tips on choosing clothing to fit your size:

  1. Clothes that are not snug or pull against the chest.
  2. Tops that hit right at the hip always give a slimming effect but make sure they fit loosely.
  3. Black, as always, is very slimming.
  4. Stay away from Heavy prints or stripes.
  5. Pants that give you a little breathing room.
  6. Always buy clothes that you are going to be comfortable in. Everyone will notice if you are constantly tugging on your clothes all day and it isn’t good for the clothes themselves.
  7. When you buy clothes always follow the washing instructions so that they do not shrink and you are stuck with a smaller version of what you once loved.
