I Highly Recommed Not Wearing Anything Too Fitted in the Summer

July 17, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

During the Summer Time, I highly recommend not wearing anything too fitted. Tank tops are okay, but sometimes they grip your body in an unpleasing way, and make you look larger than you actually are. Most women are not abruptly skinny, and cannot fashionably pull off just wearing a tank and jeans. Loose tanks, which do not hug your body, are a good call here. I highly recommend wearing loose t-shirts, or blouses which do not hug your body, and give you breathing room. I also recommend wearing a loose shirt-dress with leggings, and flats. Socks and shoes are not a good call in the summer.

Pedi and some Cute Sandals

Once the snow melts, most woman run for their wedges and heels. But there is nothing more sexy than a pair of simple sandals accented with an eye-catching pedicure. Casual is beautiful, and sandals can be worn with everything – jeans, shorts, leggings, dresses, skirts. They give off a more playful, down to earth vibe and allow you to walk for miles while enjoying the long-awaited sunshine. Worried about legs looking short? Why not get sandals with a tiny wedge to give add the illusion of length? I love the gladiator sandal as it’s causal but still adds a bit of intrigue to any outfit.

Colorful Winter Palette

Layering is a great way to be fashionable and keep warm during the winter months.  It can be a great way to bring color to an otherwise neutral, winter color palette too.  Consider wearing tights or leggings with your skirts.  To make it fun wear ones that are colorful, or have patterns such as stripes.  A short sleeved top over a long sleeved one can look great while also keeping you a bit more cozy.  A t-shirt over a long sleeved tee can be a great casual look.  Or if the shirt on top has buttons it can serve as “jacket” like look.  A sweater over an oxford shirt, with the addition of a scarf and belt can look very smart.  The possibilities when it comes to layering are endlessly stylish.

Long Sweaters from the 80’s

I live in the south where the weather is unpredictable. I like to dress in layers for this reason. I find that wearing a long-sleeved cotton shirt under a sweater works best for days when the weather is going to warm up. I also like to wear boots when rain is expected. Leggings are great for cold weather days and are back in style this season. For the winter months ahead, anything vintage makes a great fashion statement. Long sweaters from the 1980’s are back in style. Also plums and purples make great color choices for purses and shoes to add a pop of color.
