Womens Skinny Jeans and Nice Boots

October 7, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Fall fashion is absolutely the best time of the year for cute clothes. I absolutely love some skinny jeans with some nice boots, and a light sweater. Fall fashion is great for neutral colors and deep colors, like some burgundies, browns, deep oranges, or navy blues. The colors are not the only great thing about fall fashion but the carefree breezy styles are absolutely to die for. You can get away with jeans and a college football t-shirt , hair pulled up and very little makeup on a Saturday morning and still look cute. Then on Saturday night put on some cool grey slacks, a sweater, wear your hair down in some big carefree curls and WOW – a knockout. The fall is the most diverse season for fashion and might I add my favorite.

Guess Polka-Dot Tube Top Bikini

August 29, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

My favorite swimsuit for this summer is a black and white polka-dot tube top bikini. The brand is Guess and it originally sold for upwards of seventy dollars in big retail stores. I got this suit for a bargain price at Burlington Coat Factory. I bought this suit because it was a tube top swimsuit. I didn’t want the tan lines of the straps on my shoulders and neck as I am going to be in a wedding this summer. I have received many compliments on the suit mainly because of the unique big polka dots and cute bow in the front!

Wearing White is Sexy this Summer

August 27, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

I believe the best summertime tip I have to offer is wear crisp whites. White is absorbs less heat and when done right is sexy. Think Lindsay Lohan in Georgia Rule. A slim white tank with a little lace detail matched with dark denim skinny jeans is classic. But a daringly short light white cotton sundress will attract loads of attention especial when paired with undone bed head hair (please don’t pair the dress with sloppy flip flops!) Even the lightness of white shorts will camouflage a still yet-to be tanned legs. White extraordinary dangerous when done in a bikini but with the proper precautions (think lined swimsuit!) it will have the opposite sex drooling.

Ruffles, Rhinestones and Kitten Heels

In the summer, cute sandals are a must-have. Styles and materials change each year with the trends, but a few basics can be counted on.

Since I’m on the tall side, I avoid too much of a heel, but in the summer, with a cute sundress, a pair of kitten heel thong sandals are something I reach for time and again. My favorite pair look like classic flip flops, but are made of black leather, have a kitten heel, and have small rhinestones on the straps. They can be dressed up or dressed down.

For a more casual look this summer, I’ll be looking forward to my cute Gap sandals. I loved them so much I got them in two colors, black and tan with gold threads. They are flat, have ruffles along the top of the foot and have an ankle strap around the back. They make my size 10 feet look dainty and cute, and look like something from a higher end store. My first thought when I saw them was “These look like they are from Anthropologie!”

You can try these ideas here or find sandals that fit your personality. Either way, make sure to book your pedicure appointment now so you can look your best this summer!

Godet Silhouette Skirt

The godet silhouette skirt is ideal for the summer time. It is designed to suit women of all sizes as this cut flatters the curves. It’s a look that is perfect for the office as it does not look casual instead it’s chic and adds a touch of class to the wearer. This skirt goes well with heels but you can also wear cute ballet flats. Layering is also in this summer as well as dresses made from sheer fabrics. Really high heels are in this summer but you have the option of detailed sandals or thong slippers that go well with brightly coloured dresses and skirts.

One Shoulder Tops for Summer

Now that summer is knocking at the door, its time to get out of all the layers. No more bundling up and not showing any skin. The warmer tempatures seem to make us want to show some skin, tastefully of course. My favorite way to do that is in one of the many “one shoulder tops” that are out there. They show off some skin while keeping you covered and somewhat modest. They are flattering showing off your collar bone and shoulder, and they are comfortable to wear. I think its a great alternative to the classic tank top. It just has a little something extra to it. They go from day to night without problems and you can get them in any color you can imagine. Paired with capris or skinny jeans for day time wear and maybe or skinny jeans for a night out on the town. Go ahead and show some skin, its finally the season for it!

Old-Fashioned Cut Off Shorts

I could stand to lose a few pounds so shorts are not my favorite garment. I do however, have two favorite pairs, and they are exactly alike. They are old-fashioned, home made cut offs, made from recycled relaxed fit Route 66 jeans purchased at KMart. They are not Daisy Dukes. I wear them anywhere I would put on a pair of jeans, which for me is just about anywhere. I dress them up by pairing them with a shirt that has a metallic gold thread running through the fabric. These shorts are extremely comfortable. The worn jeans I couldn’t stand to throw away have gotten a new life.

My Favorite Swimsuit is My “Mommy” Suit

August 14, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

My favorite swimsuit is my “Mommy” bathing suit. The days of the bikini for me are probably over. There are too many skinny teenage girls on the beach that look like they are part of the 90210 set, and let’s just say I don’t blend in with them. The suit is still a two-piece and has a halter top, which is the most flattering style I could find for wide shoulders and not-so-thin arms. It is low cut in the front to add a little sexiness to it-a “Mommy” suit does not need to be frumpy. It has a really pretty tropical flower print against a black background, and I’ve had many compliments on it from other Moms. The bottom is wide enough to cover everything, but still high cut enough to be in fashion. It is perfect for someone that is active in the water like me as far as the top staying on and in place…even when boogie boarding. I love the suit because it makes me feel a bit younger than my 37 years. It was purchased at TJ Maxx a few years ago after trying on about a hundred others. It was like winning a little jackpot when I tried it on and was finally pleased with what I saw in the mirror. It is the only bathing suit that I have been wearing for the last 2 years since I like everything about it. How to keep my summer look from getting too stale? Lots and lots of cover-ups and sandals!

Shopping for Summer at Loose Lucy’s

August 10, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

My favorite place to shop for clothing in the summer is Loose Lucy’s. This store is targeted to the “hippie” crowd mainly, but other people enjoy shopping there as well. I like to buy the dresses that they have. They are comfortable and really unique. I donít see many other people wearing the same outfit as me. Most of the brands that are offered are not popular or well-known brands. They also sell footwear, which is very comfortable. The prices are great, usually ranging anywhere from $10-$45 a dress. There are often specials in the store which allows me to buy two items for the price of one. I am excited to purchase more clothes there as it gets closer to the summer months.

Airwalk Shoes from Payless

August 9, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

My favorite summer shoes were purchased at a very reasonable price at Payless Shoes, and bought on an impulse. The brand name is Airwalk. They are canvas slip-ons with white vinyl soles. The fabric is black with white stars. Although they are starting to fray, I am still getting compliments on them. I’m a casual dresser who wears them to church, to town, and any occasion where smart casual dress is appropriate. Although I consider them summer shoes, they were purchased in the fall. I had in mind to wear them to a New Year’s Eve party with fireworks, but I got sick and stayed home that evening.
