Forever 21

My favorite place to shop is Forever 21, they have great styles, and funky and fun clothes, plus they are very affordable. I love sweater dresses, and have purchased 3 so far this past winter, the great thing about it that none of them cost over $29.99 apiece. They also have a nice selection of cute winter outerwear/coats. I purchased a very cute red pea coat for less than $50.00. They also have great “skinny leg” jeans, which sometimes are hard to find, these also are very affordable, also under $50.00. They have a large selection of sweaters, dresses, slacks, jeans, just about everything you could want. Their clothes are fun, priced right and stylish. I do wish they would expand their shoe department, that is the only thing that is lacking, they could use more shoes.
Lane Bryant

I love to shop at Lane Bryant. It is a great store for women who are not a “perfect” size. They are up to date on the latest fashions so, unlike other plus size shops, you don’t end up looking like a grandma playing shuffleboard! The last time I was in I got a great pair of super flattering jeans and a nice shapely denim jacket. The clothes are about showing off your curves, no covering them up. You can easily get an outfit, usually jewelry included, for under $100. Which is great for a Mom that has 3 kids to shop for as well. I can’t wait to get back in there and get some dress pants, not to mention the gorgeous bras and underwear they have.
Pink Chiffon Sari
I simply love my pink chiffon sari. It is a soft pink with silver sequins in it I wear this to formal parties. Its blouse is sleeveless and low back. Pink reflects on my skin making me look soft and feminine. My husband bought this for me after we got possession of our house. For last two years we were very thrifty as we were paying installment for the house. I was cutting corners where ever possible. So this sari was my first good formal wear in a long time. And I was surprised and elated when my husband drove me to the sari shop and asked me to choose one for myself. I remember picking up an ordinary cotton sari. I almost cried when my husband picked up this sari and draped on my shoulder and asked how about this.
Shopping at Marshall’s

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothes is Marshalls, because I can get quality, stylish clothes for less. It is a huge store so I can maneuver around easily with my shopping cart. The dressing rooms are plentiful and clean. Marshalls carries name brand clothes, shoes, accessories pots and pans, dishes, and small appliances at a reduced price. Recently I’ve purchased several Lillyette support/minimizer bras there for less than $10.00 each, I bought Nine West dress shoes for about $9.00, and a set of Emeril cookware for about $50.00. I bought my daughter tops and shorts in the current style but I don’t remember the brand names, but each item was around $11.00. Middle class customers are very happy to shop there, but I’ve seen upper class people in the store (also there were BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus automobiles in the parking lot). Even folks without much disposable income could shop there without straining their budget. Marshalls not only has low prices in general, but they have lots of clearance racks for even greater savings. I haven’t seen them advertise but I do get their newsletters to keep me informed about their merchandise.
Thin Cotton Blouse

My favorite item of clothing is a thin cotton blouse with ¾ sleeves and a gently scooped neckline. It is done in an East Indian print, with many different colors, although turquoise is the dominant color. It also has some sequins on it in a nice pattern. It is machine washable and does not wrinkle when it dries. I bought it through a catalog called Catalog Favorites. I receive many compliments on it, and people always want to know where I got it. I wear it to go out or at work. It is what one might call “nice casual.”
Thrift Stores

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothing is the thrift store. I can buy designer clothes there without paying a designer price. They have separate racks of the better quality clothes that are in better-than-usual condition and often I have seen brand-new clothing at the thrift shop. I like to wear conservative clothing and I can find dresses that I like and pants that are comfortable. Also, when I gain or lose weight, I can get a big piece of a new-to-me wardrobe for under $20. Sometimes I have to have clothing for special occasions; for instance, our Vacation Bible School had a Hawaiian theme this year. I went to the thrift shop and got a Hawaiian shirt I could wear for that. It’s fun to shop at a place where you can buy the things you like without worrying about how much you are spending.
Sterling Silver Earrings

My favorite article to wear is a pair of earrings I bought in 1995. They are sterling silver with a detailed pecan leaf dangling from a pink turquoise stone. The stones are about the size of a dime, with a rounded curve to them. The leaves are an inch long. These earrings reach from my pierced ear down to the top of my neck and make a pleasant look and feel whenever I move my head. I consider them understated bling. I bought them in Juarez, Mexico in a mom and pop store just over the border. I wear these for job interviews, social events (except funerals), and in most of my family pictures.
My Favorite Piece of Clothing

Currently, my favorite piece of clothing is my Squee t-shirt. I bought it probably 7 years ago at a comic convention, and any time I travel, it always goes with me. It is black, and has the character being chased by a dinosaur on the front and it says “Squee” on the back. It is my favorite because it’s cute, comfortable, and gets lots of comments. Folks either ask what it is, or they know and are amused by it. I wear it to work on Fridays, I wear it shopping, I wear it out and about. I don’t wear it when I’m just running to the grocery store, or bathing dogs, because it is so precious to me. It isn’t even the sexiest thing I own, but it has lots of happy memories, and it makes my husband smile.
My Favorite Store

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothing is Lane Bryant. I love this store because it carries an array of different styles and sizes to accommodate every shopper’s needs. They carry pants, jeans, shirts, blouses, sweaters, night clothes, socks, shoes, underwear and Jewelry. I recently went there during their sale to get Jeans because I only buy jeans from 2 stores and they are my first choice. Lane Bryant has a sale once every 2 weeks and if you are a member of their mailing lists then you receive coupons and discounts by mail or email. Overall this is the store for me.
Make Your Own T-Shirts And Save Lots Of Money

If you are like me, you LOVE all the cool T-shirts now available with retro brands and icons on them. However, if you are also like me and plus-sized, you are probably sad that you can not normally find the T-shirts you want in your size. I have discovered a way to solve this problem and save money in the process. Make your own T-shirts. I buy my T-shirts at discount stores for about $6.00 each. The iron-on transfers will run about $10.00 for five of them. Therefore, for about $8.00, you can have a T-shirt that shows your own personal style for a lot less than you will pay in a retail shop, where they average $25.00 a piece. What is great about this too, is that the iron-on’s are for use in any inkjet printer, so you can let your imagination run wild!
