My Favorite Springtime Dress
March 11, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Although at times I can be an impulse buyer but I love most of my spring clothing that I have in my wardrobe. The one that I love most is my pink dress. It was a gift from my elder sister who was coming back home to visit us. She has always known that I love anything that is pink. The color is not that bright as I dislike bright colors. I love wearing it when I hangout with some of my friends at a party. It fits nicely on me, has a silky smooth touch and very comfortable to wear.
The dress is also wrinkle free which I love. it doesn’t have too many frills or any laces at all. It is simple yet elegant to be worn on any occasion. This dress is definitely my favorite piece of clothing during springtime.
My Most Unique Clothing Item

The most unique clothing item I own was something I dreamed about before I ever acquired it. I had a dream about the writer Anaïs Nin, in which we were both sitting at an outdoor café in Paris. It was the early 1930s. She got up and walked away and I noticed her dress. It was a sheer pale pink organza, layered in tiers. A few days later, I went into my favorite vintage clothing store, and saw this exact same vintage dress hanging on the wall in the back. I was amazed, and bought it immediately, even thought its age made it too fragile to wear. But I still treasure it.
Nine West shoes

My most unique article of clothing would be my favorite pair of shoes. They are slim-fitting moccasins that are evergreen-colored with white stitching, and they had cost only ten dollars at Ross! I was stepping out by purchasing them because I wasn’t sure if they would match my current wardrobe, but I have learned to mix them in and all in all they have turned out wonderfully for me. I love to pair them with shorts and a patterned, layered shirt. They are a dependable brand (Nine West) and I was lucky to get such a great buy for such a cheap price!
Spring Sundresses

I really like to wear lightweight sundresses in the spring. Even though the temperature in the early spring can still be a little brisk, it still feels great to put on a fun little dress and step out in those rays. My favorite is a yellow lightly floral patterned cotton dress with spaghetti straps. It comes to just above my knees and is mildly figure slimming.
I love the way it makes me feel and look forward to the chances I get to put it on every year. It was a great $20 buy a few years back and when winter comes around I’m sad to have to push it into the back of the closet for the season.
Clothing at Kohl’s

I don’t like clothes shopping, never have, but I actually enjoy going to Kohls. I have a hard time finding clothes to fit. I’m not tall, I have very wide hips and calves, but a tiny waist. It’s a nightmare to shop for me. Kohl’s has such a large selection that I can always find something. And I actually like what they have on the racks. I spend usually at least thirty dollars a trip there. But that can buy up to three pieces of clothing. Their sales are tremendous on savings, and they have a lot of sales. And offer more savings by using their Store card.
Spring & Summer Floral Prints

My favorite piece of spring clothing has to be a floral skirt. Florals were hot last spring and winter and will continue to be popular this spring.
My personal favorite is a silk skirt with brightly colored flowers that I purchased from Express. This is a very versatile piece that will take you from early spring into summer. In the early spring you can pair it with a fitted top, tights, and heels. As the weather warms up you can bare your legs and pair it with sandals. You can also pair it with a blazer for the office. The options are endless. Have fun shopping!
My Fashion Tip - Layers
March 3, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
My fashion tip: layers, layers, layers! I am a big fan of layering clothing, especially now with this wacky weather. When it’s super hot one day, and cool and crisp the next, it’s great to have the ability to take off or put on a layer. Layers are also great for adding depth to an outfit. Your look will be instantly more interesting if you successfully layer a light sweater over a dress. Pairing that idea with a sleek blazer allows you to transition flawlessly from day to into night. This might sound like it could get a little bulky but the point is to wear items that are light enough to layer, allowing your outfit to be both comfortable and interesting.
How to dress this spring

Spring brings with it an air of freshness that exhilarates us instantly. If we feel good than we should look good too. This spring we should wear more feminine cloths and here are my ideas of colors, cloths and accessories that should be must-have of this season:
- Retro-skirts, skirts that have a high waist, and the form of a flower
- Floral prints, flowers start to bloom, why shouldn’t we bloom too?
- Vaporous and transparent, siphon material is ideal for this season. Because it’s very easy and cool, you will feel loved and spoiled by your own outfit.
- The jewelry worn should of metals like copper, silver or gold.
- The colors of this season should be the light ones, for example light violet, olive green, jade green, etc.
- XXL handbags are the perfect choice.
Express Jeans

My favorite place to shop is Express. I love many of their clothes. I am six feet tall and find it is hard to get jeans long enough. Express Long Jeans are plenty long enough. I also have large thighs (soccer thighs) and a smaller waist. These jeans fit perfect. There shirts are great too. They have long enough sleeves and look nice. The dress clothes there are well made and look very professional. I only buy my jeans there. The jean I buy average 60 dollars a pair. They have a newer line that are nicer but do not fit me as well, they are over 100 dollars a pair. I think it is worth the extra money and the jeans last forever.
Springtime Fashions

Coming as it does after a serious winter season, the colors of springtime fashions, especially in the Northern part of the country, should reflect shades that delight the senses, are light and fresh, and are reminiscent of spring flowers. This spring, especially, ruffles will be making an appearance. Ruffles fit into spring with their soft appearance and airy style. The yellows, the pale greens, the light blues, are good colors for springtime and, if you want to be more monochromatic but still look like springtime, try soft tans or pale greys. Of course, you can always actually choose floral patterns rather than floral colors. The color and style of the print should reflect softness. So, do be careful that the pattern and shade of the flowers are not too harsh or bright.
