Sterling Silver Earrings

December 27, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

My favorite article to wear is a pair of earrings I bought in 1995. They are sterling silver with a detailed pecan leaf dangling from a pink turquoise stone. The stones are about the size of a dime, with a rounded curve to them. The leaves are an inch long. These earrings reach from my pierced ear down to the top of my neck and make a pleasant look and feel whenever I move my head. I consider them understated bling. I bought them in Juarez, Mexico in a mom and pop store just over the border. I wear these for job interviews, social events (except funerals), and in most of my family pictures.

Nordstrom’s Outlet Last Chance

My favorite place to shop is Last Chance. This store is a Nordstrom’s outlet. Actually they have two outlets; Nordstrom’s Rack and Last Chance. At Last Chance you never know what you will find as new items come in several times a week. They carry clothing for women, men, shoes, some household items, seasonal items, earrings and handbags. These items might have slight defects, but the majority of them are overstock and in good shape. I’ve been able to purchase designer jeans for as little as 8.00 and designer handbags like Coach, Juicy Couture and Michael Kors for 70.00. You have to hunt and sometimes you’ll get lucky and find a one of a kind item, and I guess that’s part of the excitement of shopping there.

Never Follow Fashion Blindly

November 6, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

There are so many fashion products, and magazines available in the market. And they are full of good advice. But before following any of that advice, stop and think. Do you have the figure of the model in the picture? Or any other individual differences you may be having. Take in account all that before venturing out to buy any thing. Magazines are giving you a generalized opinion. It is just a guideline. Suppose they say you can mix two shades of lipstick like pink and golden to get a new tantalizing pinkish gold. But only you will know if that tantalizing pink goes with your dress or ear-rings or your skin. You may like to settle with a silvery pink or brownish orange. So take the cue and experiment on your own. Never follow blindly.
