Wearing White is Sexy this Summer

August 27, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

I believe the best summertime tip I have to offer is wear crisp whites. White is absorbs less heat and when done right is sexy. Think Lindsay Lohan in Georgia Rule. A slim white tank with a little lace detail matched with dark denim skinny jeans is classic. But a daringly short light white cotton sundress will attract loads of attention especial when paired with undone bed head hair (please don’t pair the dress with sloppy flip flops!) Even the lightness of white shorts will camouflage a still yet-to be tanned legs. White extraordinary dangerous when done in a bikini but with the proper precautions (think lined swimsuit!) it will have the opposite sex drooling.

Ruffles, Rhinestones and Kitten Heels

In the summer, cute sandals are a must-have. Styles and materials change each year with the trends, but a few basics can be counted on.

Since I’m on the tall side, I avoid too much of a heel, but in the summer, with a cute sundress, a pair of kitten heel thong sandals are something I reach for time and again. My favorite pair look like classic flip flops, but are made of black leather, have a kitten heel, and have small rhinestones on the straps. They can be dressed up or dressed down.

For a more casual look this summer, I’ll be looking forward to my cute Gap sandals. I loved them so much I got them in two colors, black and tan with gold threads. They are flat, have ruffles along the top of the foot and have an ankle strap around the back. They make my size 10 feet look dainty and cute, and look like something from a higher end store. My first thought when I saw them was “These look like they are from Anthropologie!”

You can try these ideas here or find sandals that fit your personality. Either way, make sure to book your pedicure appointment now so you can look your best this summer!

Godet Silhouette Skirt

The godet silhouette skirt is ideal for the summer time. It is designed to suit women of all sizes as this cut flatters the curves. It’s a look that is perfect for the office as it does not look casual instead it’s chic and adds a touch of class to the wearer. This skirt goes well with heels but you can also wear cute ballet flats. Layering is also in this summer as well as dresses made from sheer fabrics. Really high heels are in this summer but you have the option of detailed sandals or thong slippers that go well with brightly coloured dresses and skirts.

Colorful Billabong Swimsuit

I like to wear swimsuits that are colorful. My favorite brand is billabong. Usually I wear swimsuits to the beach, but sometimes I just wear them in my backyard to tan. Usually I get my swimsuits at the mall. They are good quality there and the prices are reasonable. Also, I find that swimsuits that are smaller are more comfortable. That sometimes makes my husband uncomfortable though when I go out like that in public. My girl friends like my swimsuits a lot though. They think it makes me look younger and more attractive. Sometimes when I just want to relax and blend in I wear a plain swimsuit though.

Fossil Black Sunglasses with Rhinestone Heart Detail

My favorite piece of summer clothing is my pair of sunglasses. They are black with a rhinestone heart on each temple, and they’re Fossil brand. I got them at a department store. The sunglasses came with a great little bag that I can store them in when I’m not wearing them, that also doubles as a cleaning cloth for when they get dusty or smudged. When I wear my favorite sunglasses, I always feel so good about myself. Not only do they keep the sun out of my eyes, they help me feel like I’m making a statement: “Hey, look at me! I like to have fun!”

My Perfect Little Hat

I used to work in a coffee shop and because of the health codes, we all had to wear some sort of headwear to keep our hair back. Everyone just wore baseball caps or bandannas but I rummaged through all the thrift stores until I found the perfect little hat. It’s an eggshell color and woven, almost like a really delicate wicker. It’s got just a little bit of a lid on it so it’s great for wearing out in the sun too and I end up wearing it all summer. There’s a little bow near the brim too that makes it just too adorable. And the totally neutral color means I can wear it with basically any outfit.

Victorias Secret Monokini

August 18, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

My favorite bathing suit is a black monokini I bought online form Victoria’s Secrets. I don’t see them around that often, so I can stand out, like I like doing. It’s simple, black, and has a gold chain around the lower hips. A monokini is a bathing suit that is neither a bikini, or a one piece. It technically is both. The Bathing suit looks, pretty much, like a little black bikini attached by a 3 inch strip over my abdomen. There is practically no back to it, and the top goes around my neck. The bottom is a normal bikini type bottom. I love this bathing suit. When I go to the beach, I get a lot of attention, especially from the males. A girl likes to look good. For people who aren’t too shy, or look good in a bikini, I would recommend trying this unusual style out.

One Shoulder Tops for Summer

August 17, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Now that summer is knocking at the door, its time to get out of all the layers. No more bundling up and not showing any skin. The warmer tempatures seem to make us want to show some skin, tastefully of course. My favorite way to do that is in one of the many “one shoulder tops” that are out there. They show off some skin while keeping you covered and somewhat modest. They are flattering showing off your collar bone and shoulder, and they are comfortable to wear. I think its a great alternative to the classic tank top. It just has a little something extra to it. They go from day to night without problems and you can get them in any color you can imagine. Paired with capris or skinny jeans for day time wear and maybe or skinny jeans for a night out on the town. Go ahead and show some skin, its finally the season for it!

Old-Fashioned Cut Off Shorts

I could stand to lose a few pounds so shorts are not my favorite garment. I do however, have two favorite pairs, and they are exactly alike. They are old-fashioned, home made cut offs, made from recycled relaxed fit Route 66 jeans purchased at KMart. They are not Daisy Dukes. I wear them anywhere I would put on a pair of jeans, which for me is just about anywhere. I dress them up by pairing them with a shirt that has a metallic gold thread running through the fabric. These shorts are extremely comfortable. The worn jeans I couldn’t stand to throw away have gotten a new life.

Varanasi Saris

Sari is a favorite piece of clothing in India and is one of the most elegant of dresses. It is available in various textures. It is basically a 5.5 to 6 meter long piece of cloth some 4 feet wide. It could be made of chiffon, silk, cotton or polyester. It is draped around the waist on top of a petticoat with a lot of plaits in front and one end is taken over the shoulder and sometimes used to cover the head. There are various ways to wear a sari depending on the style you prefer. It is worn with a matching blouse. These days hand embroidered saris are very much in vogue and are a craze amongst the ladies in India. It is available all over India but silk saris from Varanasi are famous. In Bareilly is famous for zari-zardosi work and a lot of designers get it made from here. A lot of people wear printed saris too.
