Crinkly Cotton Shirts

July 19, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

I have a crinkly cotton shirt, sheer with elbow length sleeves, in a lime green. I wear it a lot. In fact, I liked it so well I bought two others, in lemon yellow and orange. I call them my citrus sherbet shirts. They are loose fitting but not sloppy. These garments are easy to care for and always feel cool and comfortable, even on a sizzling hot day. I can dress them up with a little jewelry and wear them anywhere. They fit nicely under a cardigan sweater on a chilly day, too. No matter which one I wear, people say to me, “Nice color”.

Black Flip Flops from Target

My favorite pair of shoes to wear in the summer is a pair of flip flops. They are so comfortable and breezy, I just love flip flops. I have a few pairs, but my absolute favorite is a pair that I bought on sale for $2 at the end of the summer one year at Target. They are nothing special, just plain black flip flops, but they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned and since they are just black they go with everything. The sole of the shoe is a comfortable black foam, so no matter how far I walk in the summer my feet never get sore.

Hawaiian Dresses

I suggest Hawaiian Dresses as a Perfect Summer wear for women. Hawaiian dresses are a summertime favorite for everyday wear and social party with friends. Various styles are available from long to short dresses and tie dye patterns to hot scenery bring the stuff to life. Island clothes usually originate from Hawaii, the Caribbean and Southern California but you don’t have to travel to one of these places to enjoy your favorite tropical fashion. Boutiques and online shops have awakened to the high demand of Hawaiian clothes so you can enjoy aloha clothing wherever you reside.
Although Hawaiian wear are designed to keep you cool in hot climate you may opt for a sleeved style over spaghetti straps if you get cold easily and will be out at nighttime. Always pick colors that balance your skin tone, eyes and hair color when choosing a new summer dress.

Summer Fashion Tip: Go South Pacific!

My fashion tip for summer is to go South Pacific! The clothing from that part of the world, where the climate is tropical all year round, is just the thing to wear on hot summer days. T-shirts from Samoa, Fiji or New Zealand are great conversation pieces. Garments from Vanuatu are often appliqued with dolphins, an important symbol of their culture. Beautiful tailored shirts are made for the tourist market in bright colors and patterns, including nautical motifs. These look nice with strands of shells and seeds that are placed around the necks of visitors as a gesture that says “Welcome”.
