Floral Summer Jacket

My most unique item of clothing was from a charity shop in Wales, UK. It was a floor length, ladies house-coat, a bit tired looking and something I definitely would never wear! The pattern was so amazing I just couldn’t let it go, so, I chopped off half of it, put a hem on it and wear it as a light summer jacket. It’s blue with wild colorful flowers and 5 big buttons down the middle. I sometimes wear it with shorts and tights, and sometimes over a simple black shirt dress. It has this oriental feel to it which I think looks awesome!
My Most Unique Clothing Item

The most unique clothing item I own was something I dreamed about before I ever acquired it. I had a dream about the writer Anaïs Nin, in which we were both sitting at an outdoor café in Paris. It was the early 1930s. She got up and walked away and I noticed her dress. It was a sheer pale pink organza, layered in tiers. A few days later, I went into my favorite vintage clothing store, and saw this exact same vintage dress hanging on the wall in the back. I was amazed, and bought it immediately, even thought its age made it too fragile to wear. But I still treasure it.
Women’s Clothing at Aeropostale

My favorite place to shop for women’s clothing would have to be Aeropostale. I really like their summer collections because they always have fun patterns and cute new styles. I bought a bunch of last summer’s short plaid shorts- at least four- because the plaids had such vivid melons, blueberries, strawberries, and other fantastic shades. Aeropostale is always up on current fashions, for example this spring’s collection is very nautical and fun with navy and white stripes paired with light yellow cardigans. I always feel fashionable and beautiful in Aeropostale’s clothing because not only is it cute and current, but it’s cheap, too!
Khaki Capris at JCPenney

My favorite article of clothing for spring is my khaki capris. I purchased my khaki capris at JCPenney’s in the petite section. My khaki capris are my favorite article of clothing for several reasons. First, they look good with a t-shirt and flip-flops for casual wear. Second, they look good with dress shoes and a blouse for dressier wear. Third, they are flexible enough to wear on my walks with a windbreaker and my Ked’s. Finally, I can wear just about any color I want with my khaki capris. With my busy lifestyle any article of clothing that is this flexible gets to live in my wardrobe for a long time.
Spring clothing: the Easter Dress
March 8, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
My favorite article of clothing for spring has to be my Easter dress—I look forward to wearing it each year! It is designed after the popular 1950’s styles with a halter top that accentuates my chest, narrows at the waist, and fully blooms out over my hips for that attractive, Marilyn Monroe feel. The dress itself is white with print of light blue flowers, and the halter straps and the edge of the dress are trimmed in sky blue. It might not be a church appropriate dress, but it’s lovely to wear outside and feel the warmth of the sun on my bare shoulders.
Face Mask

I have a face mask that is red leather with spikes on it. I don’t know what the brand is, but I bought it off of Ebay. It is extremely unique and a bit scary, but it fits my fashion taste!
Lane Bryant

I love to shop at Lane Bryant. It is a great store for women who are not a “perfect” size. They are up to date on the latest fashions so, unlike other plus size shops, you don’t end up looking like a grandma playing shuffleboard! The last time I was in I got a great pair of super flattering jeans and a nice shapely denim jacket. The clothes are about showing off your curves, no covering them up. You can easily get an outfit, usually jewelry included, for under $100. Which is great for a Mom that has 3 kids to shop for as well. I can’t wait to get back in there and get some dress pants, not to mention the gorgeous bras and underwear they have.
Clothing at Kohl’s

I don’t like clothes shopping, never have, but I actually enjoy going to Kohls. I have a hard time finding clothes to fit. I’m not tall, I have very wide hips and calves, but a tiny waist. It’s a nightmare to shop for me. Kohl’s has such a large selection that I can always find something. And I actually like what they have on the racks. I spend usually at least thirty dollars a trip there. But that can buy up to three pieces of clothing. Their sales are tremendous on savings, and they have a lot of sales. And offer more savings by using their Store card.
Match your handbag!

One thing we seem to forget about while dressing is our handbag. We must remember that the handbag is just as much a part of the total fashion package as the blouse or skirt. If your wearing a well matched outfit from head to toe and it is say, lavender you certainly do not want to walk out of the house with a lime green handbag. It would just throw the whole look of the outfit off. While you may look fabulous everyone’s eye would be drawn to that bright lime green handbag. It doesn’t take too much time to transfer the contents of one bag to another. Take the time to make sure your handbag matches the outfit and style of what your wearing. It does make a difference and a well matched handbag can give you a more complete and polished look.
Never Follow Fashion Blindly
November 6, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
There are so many fashion products, and magazines available in the market. And they are full of good advice. But before following any of that advice, stop and think. Do you have the figure of the model in the picture? Or any other individual differences you may be having. Take in account all that before venturing out to buy any thing. Magazines are giving you a generalized opinion. It is just a guideline. Suppose they say you can mix two shades of lipstick like pink and golden to get a new tantalizing pinkish gold. But only you will know if that tantalizing pink goes with your dress or ear-rings or your skin. You may like to settle with a silvery pink or brownish orange. So take the cue and experiment on your own. Never follow blindly.
